A couple of days left until FLOSSCamp 2009 starts and there are 56 people who announced their participation at this event. So if you just decided to join us, don’t forget to register yourself.
Anyway before joining FLOSSCamp team, here’s something you might be interested to read:
First things first, so please check out the webpage at http://camp.softwareliber.ro/2009/calea. There you’ll find some informations on how to find the way up to our camp, it also includes references from infofer.ro and autogari.ro, this is important whenever you decide to come by bus or train. For the guys on wheels, there’s also a map on how to get to us by car.
If you decided to come by car, don’t bring food nor water, only the bare minimal you might want to have for breakfast or for the first day (includes some snacks and beverages). On Friday there might be not so many people, but we still plan to send somebody for shopping, all this after we decide on our common menu and everyone needs. On Saturday, a car will be sent to Sibiu for shopping, shopping means water, juice or any other beverages. Of course the main meal will be composed of instantly prepared food like BBQ or anything else cooked where anyone is invited to take part!
From the bus station Curmătura Ștezii to the camp there are about 3,5km. If you are alone and you have nobody to meet, call Alex (Alexandru Szasz, 0723368081) or Marius from SBLUG (0746839225) and one of us will surely come to pick you up. Yeah, it is indicated to save this numbers somewhere, for your own interest.
Saturday in the morning the plan is going to be created, following BarCamp style (visit http://camp.softwareliber.ro/2009/ for details). If you want to talk about something, you will have to add your ideas to a common list and who will be interested will subscribe.
The weather seems to be fine for all the weekend, except it might rain a little on Friday. There will be temperatures from 13°C to 30°C, so don’t forget to get some warm clothes.
If you have a phone able to connect to the internet, some of us will be using http://identi.ca/tag/flosscamp to send updates about how are the things going. Yeah, there are a lot of ways to use that service.
Any requests for other information are welcomed, post those below.
Have a nice travel and see you there!
